CO2 Fire Extinguishers
Because a CO2 fire extinguisher uses carbon dioxide to displace the oxygen in a burning fire, it’s a very effective tool when an electrical fire breaks out or for fires involving flammable liquids.
Aimed at the base of a fire, they leave behind no residue and reduce damage where electrical equipment is involved. A black label is used to denote a carbon dioxide fire extinguisher.
At Fire Safety Equipment, you can choose from a 2kg CO2 fire extinguisher or a 5kg CO2 fire extinguisher, depending on your exact requirements. We deliver across the UK, helping you to protect your premises with as many units as you need.

What can CO2 fire extinguishers be used for?
If you have a CO2 fire extinguisher, this can only be used on class B flammable liquid fires and for electrical fires. This is because it removes the oxygen from the area without leaving behind a residue, preventing further damage or risks relating to electricity.
What can’t CO2 fire extinguishers be used for?
CO2 fire extinguishers can’t be used for class A fires involving wood, paper and textiles, class C fires involving flammable gases, or class F fires involving cooking oil and fats. This is mainly because using CO2 in confined spaces can cause asphyxiation or the strong jet can spread burning fat and oil.
